Work Experience Students at the Museums
Colchester and Ipswich Museum Service accepts students from schools or colleges wishing to undertake one or two weeks work experience as part of their studies.
Students undertake their work placement across all sections of the service, including Social History, Archaeology, Documentation, Marketing, Education, Gallery Services (Front of House), etc.
Work experience students usually work from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm with one hour for lunch between 12.30 pm and 1.30 pm. If these times are not convenient for travel they can be changed with advance notice.

As we receive more applications than we can actually accommodate each year we ask that applicants plan well in advance. We are currently taking bookings for placements for next year.
We will reply as soon as possible to inform you if there are any potential work experience vacancies that match your requirements. If there is a vacancy, you will be contacted to attend an interview. If successful, we will contact you to confirm placement details.
