Boudica is Back

Colchester Castle
Monday 20th – Thursday 23rd August
FREE Event (after admission to the Castle)

Bring history and the story of Boudica to life at the ‘Boudica is Back’ storytelling event at Colchester Castle, between Mon 20 – Thur 23 August! Come along and learn more about the Roman invasion and Boudica’s destruction of the town.

Boudica is one of Colchester’s most famous and celebrated visitors – quite an achievement for someone who destroyed the entire town! At this event you can meet Boudica and follow her around the museum galleries as she tells you her story. Find out how her Iceni tribe initially made peace with the Romans, only to turn out being the victims with the coming of a new Emperor.

Hear how she was wronged, and then discover her plot to get revenge via the destruction of Roman Britain’s capital city – Colchester.

Boudica is a very significant figure in Colchester’s history and her story never dulls as time goes on. We are delighted to be able to bring her story to life once again.

Storytelling sessions will take place at 11am, 12pm, 2pm and 3pm. There is no need to book, just come along and the event is FREE (after normal Castle admission).
