By choosing Christchurch Mansion for your special occasion you are assured of a professional and friendly service. Christchurch Mansion is available to hire in the evenings and is the ideal venue for many occasions, and can turn a function into a prestigious event. Arrangements can be made so that just part of the house is hired out, to suit your individual requirements. From wedding receptions, corporate functions, birthday parties, presentations through to Murder Mystery Nights you name it we can do it. Some rooms are available for hire during the day for meetings and lectures.

Weddings/Civil Partnerships

Christchurch Mansion is licensed for weddings, renewal of vows, baby naming ceremonies and civil partnerships. Wedding ceremonies take place in the Lower Tudor Room, a dignified panelled room which can seat up to 45 people. There is easy access from the front reception doors. Wedding time slots start at 10am and finish at 4pm. Separate arrangements must be made to book the County Registrar, to whom a separate fee is payable. It is strongly suggested to make an appointment to see Saskia Stent who will happily provide a no obligation wedding tour which will cover logistics of holding your wedding in Christchurch Mansion.

Commitment CeremoniesFamily in Christchurch Mansion

A commitment ceremony is a meaningful and dignified ceremony for adult couples. The purpose of the ceremony is to make a public declaration of life-long commitment, love and dedication between two people. The occasion can be shared with family and friends or the ceremony can be held in private without guests.

Renewal of Vows

This ceremony is for any married couple wishing to celebrate their renewing of vows in a unique and personal ceremony. Often these ceremonies are associated with a special wedding anniversary.

Naming Ceremonies

A naming ceremony is a very special way of celebrating the birth of your child and welcoming the new born in the family and wider community. It is also ideally suited to welcome an adoptive child or to embrace stepchildren into the family. A Naming Ceremony is a unique occasion for everyone to feel involved as they pledge their love and support for the child's future.

Wedding Receptions

We offer a personal service from the initial meeting with the couple right through to the delivery of the evening function. Access to the building is from 5pm when we close to the public and guests must leave by midnight. A list of caterers, musicians, photographers and florist are available on request. Unfortunately we cannot recommend a particular company. You may have up to 150 people for a buffet or 60 people for a seated reception. A meeting would be necessary in order to cover the finer details and the logistics of having your wedding reception here in the Mansion.
An informal wedding tour is recommended and offered.
