Access information for visitors with mobility impairments

The main entrance has level access. There are double glass doors which can be opened to allow access for wider wheelchairs or scooters.

The museum is all on one level apart from a slight slope at the entrance of the museum and a slight slope at the far end of the gallery. Outside there is a wide, hard surface pathway leading through the wildlife garden area. There are raised beds of plants and other accessible interesting features.

There is an accessible toilet with baby changing facilities.

There are hands-on interactive and sensory experiences throughout the displays.

Outside there are raised beds of plants with tactile lettering.

Guide and Helping dogs are welcome.

We provide British Sign Language interpretation at selected events. Please see our events section for details.
